 | 01-09-08 | While their hometown is still caught under an Oasis-shaped rain cloud, Manchester's ‘best kept secret’, The Beep Seals are a defiant ray of sunshine. Formed in 2006 thanks to a mutual admiration of each other and a shared love of various things – predominantly the visionary demi-god Todd Rundgren, long walks on rainy days, the sound of a really good fuzz pedal and the Beatles (obviously) – the band boasts two sold out singles and a 2008 debut album, ‘Things That Roar’, produced by Teenage Fanclub's Norman Blake. With a seal of approval from Flaming Lips front man Wayne Coyne, he chose the band’s name, and a fearsome live reputation, it won’t be long until the secret is out. Myspace |
