Vinyl Jacket

Vinyl Jacket are a young five piece that hail from the small village of Wylam in Northumberland creating their unique brand of ‘Diesel-Pop’.

Having only formed early 2010, the band already headlined the BBC Introducing Stage at In the City and have received radio support for their debut single, ‘Painting Stations’ from the likes of Chris Moyles, Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne, Tom Robinson and Capital FM as well as a Huw Stephens, who made it his track of the week. A ‘New Blood’ feature also ran in Artrocker Magazine.

They followed up the single by touring the UK as well as supporting Little Comets, playing Liverpool Sound City and opening the main stage at Newcastle's Evolution Festival. The band also played the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury Festival 2011 after being selected by a panel that included Zane Lowe, Jo Whiley and Emily Eavis. Last summer's single, ‘Koala’ received plays from XFM’s John Kennedy, Lauren Laverne and Tom Robinson on BBC 6 Music and was again a Huw Stephen track of the week which resulted in him inviting Vinyl Jacket down for a Radio 1 session at the famous Maida Vale studios.

Vinyl Jacket release their third single ‘Red Light’ on 5th March 2012 and will play 'Huw Stephens Presents' at The Social in London 14th February.
